chemical-mime-data software package provides chemical MIME and file type support for desktops, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install chemical-mime-data
chemical-mime-data is installed in your system.
Make ensure the chemical-mime-data package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep chemical-mime-data *
You will get with chemical-mime-data package name, version, architecture and description in a table
